Skin tags are small growths of skin that hang from the surrounding skin by a narrow stalk. They are often unsightly and can appear any where on the body but are very easy to remove. At our pharmacy we remove skin tags using Cryotherapy, this method has minimal discomfort.
Where can skin tags occur?
Skin tags appear as tiny bits of “hanging” skin, they generally occur at the sites where clothing rubs against the skin or where there is skin-to-skin friction. Skin tags are found near the areas- eyelids, axillae (armpits), back, under the breasts, groin, upper chest as well as neck. These skin tags appear most often in women more often those who are going through weight gain and in the elderly people. The skin tags usually don’t cause any kind of pain, but still they can become irritated if anything rubs them (like clothing or jewellery).
